Default Aftermarket chrome olds rallye rims

just an FYI. i just bought a set of the 15x8 chrome rallyes off of the two brothers that drove the H/O in Bullrun. they are NOT the wheel vintiques. i am trying to find out who makes them(i think its Speciality Wheels). they are much better quality than WV. one constant weld that is ground down smooth(unlike the WV which has spotted welds every 3-4"), excellent chrome and paint finish, even the inside the lips of the rim are coated so they won't rust. i have the WV's on my car now and needless to say i will pay a little more for the SW rims over the WV rims. big difference.

They might be, but let me tell you quality on the Specialty Wheels is really good, customer service is excellent too, and they are willing to work with you on any issues you might have. I recommend them, but be very very very specific when ordering, make sure they understand what you need when you order.

So what was your impression of the brothers? They kinda came off as whiney city-slickers on the show to me. Too bad the father/daughter team in the T/A weren't in the Olds.

it was actually all emails than anything else. never met them. no whineyness, real polite, respectful from the emails we had(not that there were many). they packaged up everything well and the wheels were perfect and described exactly. wish i got the 15 x 10's they had.

my cragar SS's have spot welds only where the spokes are and they've been in the wheel business for a long time. unless ur making goobs of tourque with sticky tires.. it should never be an issue and if you are to that point why would one use a heavy wheels like an SS III anyway. neither company makes the tapered wheel like factory. you can't beat the price of WV.

yes the price is nice but the WV rims are only about 30.00 less than the SW rims. mine only have about 2000 miles on them, garaged its whole life(as long as i have had them on there) never seen snow and the chrome is gone(has been for years). whats the point of paying 140.00 per rim when you have to buy a new set every few years. its worth it to pay a little more for better quality.

and BTW the factory used solid weld bead around the rims so that says something. what would it cost WV another 20 cents per rim to do a solid bead around the rim? there must be a reason that SW did it.

as far as i know if you order the wheel from SW with the correct backspacing it is exact to OEM.

Actually they come with 4.25" BS on the 7" wheel. You can specify custom BS but specify what it is you want and double, triple check with them that is how they can have it done for you. Mine are 15x7 with as close to 4" BS as possible.....

i know, the a/m ones have the 4.25 back space. if you order the 4" backspace as the OEM rims are they are exact.

Here is some pics i took with my crappy camera, these are the wider 8" ones though, my memory stick on my camera decided to take a crap and take all my pics of my 7" wheel i had with it

I can also take pictures of its backside if needed (7" inch wheel) or the entire wheel.
Anyways just thought id share this with you guys. They have good customer service but again you want to make sure you DOUBLE or TRIPLE check your order!
They are very nice pieces too...
Ill post a pic of my car when its finally done with the front end suspension, here is an older i got:

ONe of them comes on the board here. Andrew or Anthony I think? Anyway Green68Olds (where the hell has HE been) had met them and hung out then them. When I went up to visit I was suppoed to meet them too, but one of the brothers was real sick so they didn't meet up with us.

From what Greenie says, they are real upstanding New Yorkers

if any of you Bull Run guys or Greenie is reading this... PIPE UP!!

rears are 15*8 4.125" BS
fronts are 15*7 4" BS (or as close to 4" as possible)

I did, but I advise to have them re-read your order to you, this way there is no confussion! They are willing to work with you though....
I flat out love the look of ssIII, too bad they really limit my brake upgrade choices and we all know these cars take looooong to stop!
